Montreal vs Portland
- Montreal creating plenty of chances and are sitting 3rd in MLS in shots taken behind only Sporting KC and DC United. They are #2 in MLS in Shots on goal sitting only behind Sporting KC so offense isn't bad at all. Portland middle of the pack in shots taken and shots on goal but these are two pretty awful defensive teams. Montreal are the worst defensive team in MLS with 15 goals conceded, Portland the worst in the west with 11 goals allowed (1 less game played). All but one of Montreal's 8 games has seen at least 2 goals and they've both scored and conceded in both home games. Portland's away offense is a bit scary as they've yet to have a multiple goal game away in 20 trips but have netted once in 12 of those games. Montreal have yet to keep a clean sheet and Portland's only one came last week so we should see both teams score. The concern in this one is that Montreal has likely stressed defense during their 2 week break so just a small wager.

RBNY vs New England
- lineups are in and Red Bulls' backline is shocking. All four starters are out as is both Tainio and Marquez in midfield so even New England should score today. They have a rookie starting in center back, a midfielder starting at right back and their left back makes his 2nd start after a poor match vs DC. New England typically play very defensive away from home but have enough speed to make runs at this back 4 and both Feilhaber and Joseph return to midfield. I expect a crazy, disjointed match like when LA hosted NE and something like 3-2 or 3-3 game in 45'

tough break in new york...henry scores early then pops his hamstring. from there ny just stopped attacking and revs very unlucky not to score several goals. brutal

Columbus vs Vancouver
- expected Vancouver to be the most entertaining team in MLS but they've gone the opposite way as they really aren't comprehending the 4-3-3 and getting no offense at all. They have just 21 SOG all season (avg of 3 per game) which is 2nd worst to Philly and have only generated 27 corners (less than 4 per game). Defensively they are doing a really nice job though as they've allowed just 76 shots, 29 SOG, and 32 corners. They gave up b2b 3-goal games against SJ and SKC who lead their respective conferences but haven't allowed a single goal in the other 5 games. Columbus played really well last week for the first time since the Montreal game in March which limits my stake quite a bit as they played well offensively against a good defense. In other matches their offense really generated no chances at all. They've missed the net 50 times on 81 shots and generated just 28 corners. They've got to tighten up home defense as both RBNY and Houston had easy nights against them but Vancouver midfield doesn't push forward like either of those teams. Should be a real boring one

Los Angeles vs Dallas
- not quite sold on LA's defense yet after they almost blew a 2-0 lead last week and Dallas do have Shea and Perez up front plus ultra-fast Castillo down the wing. Dallas not a deep team but their regular XI is great. Right now they have a ton of missing players and midfield is a real mess. LA without a clean sheet in 2012 and Dallas with only one (home vs NE) so we should see some goals. Dallas no away point and have let in 7 in just 3 games, scoring 2. going back to last year they're now 1-0-8 L9 trips, twice allowed 4 goals and once allowed 5. LA in a great spot as they've been home all week after a fairly short positive trip to Colorado. Dallas in a nasty scheduling spot as they played all the way up in Vancouver last weekend, then home vs RSL in midweek, and now back to PST for LA tonight. LA have scored in 24 straight at home and have both scored and conceded in all 5 at home this year. They always play well against Dallas especially Donovan who has 17 goals and 12 assists in 29 h2h meetings. Will split up 3u between straight win and HC which is just like a -.75 bet but made manually with better odds.
